"I was watching Tiger Woods putting the green jacket on Phil Mickelson when the phone rang. 'OUT OF AREA' was the indication from the Caller ID, and I was just about to tear a phone solicitor a new one when the caller identified himself as none other than Mr. Billy F. Gibbons. Pleasant and well-informed, I spent 30 or 45 minutes on the phone with the Tone Prophet as he described to me the very special needs he had for his Super 17... it needed to be in a rack drawer, preferably only 2 spaces. He recognized there would be ventilation and shielding issues, but he seemed to know before I did that this was a totally do-able project. The photos show Super 17 #0144 right before it went to FedEx; the 3U shock-mount rack was just for shipping, but I couldn't help but notice that it would also make an excellent stand-alone Road Head, as well as a permanent studio in-stall.
